channelclemente posted a very interesting idea on extra baggs:
Would you be able to put together a position by position POLL with the real player options listed per position. If so, committed readers, could vote on player and position, generate discussion, and then we could publish a concensus LU with the results.
Let's use this thread to kick off a discussion, make suggestions about what players should be listed for each position, etc. If there's enough interest and enough interesting feedback...

Scorps Lose
The Scorps took a tough loss today, they had a 5-4 lead going into the ninth but blew it and lost 6-5. Gary Brown was the only Giants player to see the field. He went 0/5 with a hat trick and is now hitting just .200 on the season. Pretty safe to say he is struggling.
Crawford MIA, Graham and Pill updates
here's today's Scorps lineup, thanks to @AZ_GIANTS:
Brown CF
Segura SS
Trout LF
Hassan RF
Norris C
Overbeck 1B
Ruf DH
Walters 3B
Dent 2B
Sholl SP
Once again, no Crawford. It seems like something must be up, Brandon has been playing very well so far and is the leading hitter on the Scorps right now. If I get any info on this I'll update. Update: according to @JalynneD35, Brandon's hamstring is tight and he will be back in the lineup tomorrow.
Ron Brown pointed out that Tyler Graham is playing for the Tomateros, I'll get him on the watch from now on. Still no word on Pill, although a poster on extra baggs suggested that he may not play until 11/1 due to contract issues. We will keep an eye out for him either way.

Tuesday's Wrap
The Scorps played a barn burner against Phoenix, winning 11-10 in the 10th inning.
Unfortunately though, it still wasn't the best night for our guys, overall. Crawford got the night off, Brown and Panik were in their customary spots. Harrold pitched two scoreless innings - the 9th and the 10th - to pick up the win.
Belt, Sanchez and Peguero all also played in the winter leagues. So far, although it is a small sample size, Hector is raking. Without further ado, here are the stat lines.
Sanchez: 2/5 1R 1BB 1SO .429
Belt: 0/5 2SO .200
Peguero: 1/4 2SO .294
Brown: 1/6 1 2B 1R 1RBI 1SB 1SO .229
Panik: 1/4 1R 1BB 1HBP .200
Rosin: 1.1IP 1H 1ER 2BB 1SO 3.00
Harrold (W,2-0): 2IP 1H 0ER 1BB 1SO 2.45
To end on a pleasant note, Tyler LaTorre is back from his honeymoon. He is ready to get back to work, and make a push for the big leagues. Congratulations Tyler, and best of luck!
Tuesday's Schedule
We've got a full slate of games today, with action in all the winter leagues and in the AFL. Plenty of Giants prospects should see action. We will of course post our usual wrap end of day.
Go get 'em boys!

Monday's Wrap
Pretty quiet day for our prospects. As mentioned earlier, there were no winter league games of interest.
Gary Brown and Brandon Crawford got the day off, Joe Panik hit 8th and played 2nd for the Scorps. He went 2/4 and is now hitting .192 on the year. Austin Fleet was the only other Giant to see action. He pitched 2 innings, allowing 4 hits and one run on a solo homer while striking out 3. His season ERA is now a nice 1.29.

Monday's Games
There are no winter league games of interest today. The only interesting game will be the Scorps at home against Phoenix at 12:35.

Sunday's Latest
Day 6 of the Pill watch comes up empty again. Maybe it's just because Jorge Vazquez, the current Tomateros 1B, is hitting .412 and it's not injury related. Or, maybe we got some bad information and Pill isn't even playing for the Tomateros team this year. I'm quite certain I heard he was playing in the Mexican League this winter though.
Neither Adrianza nor Sanchez got on the field today.
The Scorps had the day off.
Belt went yard for the first time this winter. A solo shot.
Peguero: 1/5 1 2B 1SO .308
Belt: 1/3 1R 1RBI 1HR 1BB .300

Saturday's Updates
Day 5 of the Pill watch, still haven't seen him in a box score for the Tomateros.
Here's a list of all the Giants players we've found so far in the winter leagues:
Name | League | Team |
---|---|---|
Brandon Belt | DR | Leones del Escogido |
Francisco Peguero | DR | Gigantes del Cibao |
Hector Sanchez | VEN | Tiburones de La Guaira |
Ehire Adrianza | VEN | Tiburones de La Guaira |
Brett Pill | MEX | Tomateros de Culiacan |
And here's the stat lines for the guys who played today:
Name | Stats | Season Avg. |
---|---|---|
Peguero | 1/4 1BB | .375 |
Belt | 1/3 1R 1BB 1SO | .286 |
Sanchez, H | 2/4 1R 3RBI 1HR 2SO | .375 |
Brown | 1/5 1R 1SO | .241 |
Crawford | 3/5 1RBI 1SO | .360 |
Very nice game from Hector, stay hot Brandon! If he keeps hitting like this, Keith Law may be eating a bit of crow come March.
